Music from the Netherlands on 18 May 2011
Arcos concludes its 2010-2011 Season at Temple Emanu-El with a concert of outstanding works by composers largely unknown in the United States. Highlights from the Lowlands shall take place on Wednesday, 18 May 2011 at 7:00 PM and feature the North American Première of the Viola Concerto by Holocaust victim Leo Smit (1900-1943) with Emily Deans as soloist, along with music by Hans Kox (b. 1930), Tristan Keuris (1946-1996) and a world première by American-in-Amsterdam Vanessa Lann (b. 1968). Hans Kox and Vanessa Lann shall participate in a pre-concert talk at 6:00 PM. Hungarian Music on 26 October 2011
Hungarian Dances, the Arcos Orchestra's exciting Hungarian music concert at New York's Temple Emanu-El, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, 26 October 2011 at 7:30 PM. The concert features
three North American premieres: the Divertimento No 1 (1934) by Holocaust survivor Leó Weiner (1885-1960), based upon Hungarian folk melodies; the Sinfonia per archi (1956) by Kodály protégé Rudolf Maros (1917-1982); and the Sinfonia Concertante (1986) by Rudolf Maros' son, Miklós Maros (b. 1943). The program also includes a performance of György Ligeti's colorful and expressive Ramifications (1969). Composer Miklós Maros shall attend the rehearsals and the concert, and also participate in a pre-concert talk at 6:30 PM at Temple Emanu-El's Beth-El Chapel.

14 December 2011 – Sensational Sweden (Rosenberg, Eliasson, Jan Sandström)
14 March 2012 – The Phenomenal French (Debussy, Xenakis, Bacri, Dutilleux)
16 May 2012 – Trans-European Express (Mozart, Gubaidulina, LeFanu, Berg)

May-June 2012 European Tour
Planning is well underway for our May-June 2012 European Tour. Concerts are already scheduled in Dresden, Vienna, Stuttgart, Würzburg and Berlin, together with an exciting roster of soloists: pianist Cédric Pescia of Switzerland, Bayan Accordionist Geir Draugsvoll of Norway and violinist Baiba Skride of Latvia.
